Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

To apply to the MPA program, you will need to submit the following materials:

  1. Online Application: Fill out the formal application online at the Auburn Graduate School website
  2. Transcripts: Send two official copies of transcripts from all former colleges and universities to the Graduate School.
  3. GRE Scores: Send official copies of GRE scores to the Graduate School
  4. Recommendation Letters: Have three letters of recommendation sent to our MPA office.
    **DO NOT have the letters sent to the Graduate School.
  5. Writing Sample: This can be a copy of a paper that you did for an undergraduate course. This can be mailed to the MPA Office, but it is probably easiest to send it as an e-mail attachment to Dr. Hale.
  6. Statement of Intent: This should be a short letter indicating why you wish to pursue an MPA degree. This can be mailed or e-mailed to Dr. Hale.
  7. Priority Application Deadlines: March 1 for Fall Semester and October 1 for Spring Semester.

Applicants are also strongly encouraged (but not required) to ask their recommenders to complete the ETS Personal Potential Index (PPI) in addition to writing letters of recommendation.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
