Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.45 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
The Office of Admissions does not handle admission to graduate programs. Students
should be referred to the appropriate academic department or the University Graduate
School.
All students who are interested in IU need to be aware of the high school prerequisites before applying to IU. Applicants should complete at least 34 credits (or semesters) of college-preparatory courses, advanced placement courses, and/or college courses in high school. We focus mainly on the academic performance and preparation of the applicant throughout high school.
IU has competitive admission requirements; while reviewing an application,
It is important to stress that IU looks at a combination of factors when making admission decisions.
You can share standards, but only Admissions staff members can assess a student\xc2\x92s admissibility. Though we will consider additional factors, our admissions decisions are primarily based on academics.
