Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.75

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Admission to the graduate program in public health is based upon scholarship, letters of recommendation, and evidence of potential for success in a graduate program, including:

  1. A minimum undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75;
  2. Satisfactory scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

The following exemptions may be made for GRE scores:
  1. Applicants who have earned a master\xc2\x92s degree, medical degree or doctoral degree in the health sciences, or other applicable field from a regionally accredited U.S. institution are not required to submit GRE scores; and
  2. Official scores from the GMAT taken within the last 5 years may be submitted in lieu of the GRE.
The exemption does not apply to graduates of foreign institutions. All applicants who are graduates of foreign institutions are required to submit GRE scores.

The College of Public Health begins accepting applications in early September and will continue to review applications through the month of May. However, the College of Public Health only admits for the following fall semester.
