Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Upper Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

A Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree with 2:1 honours (or overseas equivalent) is normally required. Applicants with a 2:2 (or overseas equivalent) will be considered where they offer significant work experience in a related field. A degree level professional qualification in an appropriate subject, normally with some experience in the broad field of public health (or primary care for MPH (Primary Care) applicants) will also be considered.

Application procedure
  • Applications must be made online using King\'s online application portal and a non-refundable application fee of \xc2\xa350 applies. Your application will be assessed by two academics (Admissions Tutors). Shortlisted home candidates may be interviewed in person, and shortlisted overseas candidates may be interviewed via Skype (telephone interviews will be conducted as an exception). We aim to process all applications within eight weeks, but please bear in mind that this programme attracts a very large number of applications. During holiday periods, applications may take longer to process.
  • One of the core modules is \xc2\x91Basic Epidemiology and Statistics for Public Health\xc2\x92 so all applicants should be confident with their aptitude for numerical reasoning before they start their MPH studies. We therefore encourage applicants before they submit their application to undertake self-assessment regarding their aptitude for numerical reasoning.
