If your first language is not English you need to show that you would benefit from studying in English. Acceptable qualifications for entry are:
- A degree which you studied in English.
- Heriot-Watt University\'s Foundation English Programme - Grade C (Grade B for postgraduate study in the School of Management and Languages).
- TOEFL 577 (233 in the computerised test or 90 in the internet-based test). This applies to courses in the School of Life Sciences, School of Management and Languages, School of the Built Environment, School of Textiles and Design, School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, and Institute of Petroleum Engineering.
- TOEFL 550 (213 in the computerised test or 80 in the internet-based test). This applies to courses in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences only.
- IELTS 6.5.
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency (CPE) Grade C.
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
