Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.75

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • Complete an online application to the Graduate School through the “Apply Yourself” application process
  • Letters of Reference: Have three people who are unrelated to the applicant each complete the Letter of Reference Form and upload it to the online application.
  • Official Transcripts: We require transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended. These can be uploaded to the online application as well. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted and you will be expected to submit official transcripts upon admission.
Admission Requirements:
  • An overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 and 3.00 on all graduate work is required of degree-seeking students. Individual programs may have higher requirements.
  • Applicants are required to engage in a personal interview with the Rehabilitation Counseling Program Faculty and students. The interview can be conducted by telephone if the applicant lives more than 75 miles from Lexington.
  • Once admitted, students select whether they will be in the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling or Clinical Rehabilitation in Mental Health Program.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
