Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Admission to either M.Res or D.Prof will normally require at least a 2:1 honours degree in an appropriate subject. There is also provision for admission that takes into account work experience when the applicant has an undergraduate degree but not at a 2:1 honours level (contact RiHPE@swansea.ac.uk). Most applicants will have an equivalent qualification in an area of professional practice (e.g. B.Sc Nursing, MBBCh etc).
Applicants who have already completed masters-level taught modules with outcomes that are significantly similar to those in the taught phase of the programme may be allowed to APeL those credits into Phase 1. This decision will have to be made on a case-by-case basis by the Programme Director and the School\'s APL Committee.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate English language proficiency according to Swansea University guidance for postgraduate programmes (IELTS Score 6.5/TOEFL 570)
