Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.25 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- A baccalaureate degree from a nationally accredited college or university that reflects a broad liberal arts preparation. This consists of having completed at least 21 credit hours in social and behavioral sciences and 6 credit hours in natural sciences, humanities, visual and performing arts, and quantitative reasoning;
- A human biology course, receiving a grade of C or better; (if you need a Biology course, click here for a correspondence course that fulfills our requirement). Please note, General Biology classes do not meet this requirement.
- A statistics course, receiving a grade of C or better;
- An undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4-point scale.
- A bachelor\'s degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education accredited social work program;
- An undergraduate social work GPA of 3.25 or above;
- An overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above;
- Received a B or better and/or a Satisfactory grade in BSW Field Education Practicum.
