Admission Requirements:

Please forward recent scores (within the previous five years and waived if you are a GMU graduate) of either

    • The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) minimum score of 395
      OR
    • The revised Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test with a minimum Verbal score of 150 and a Quantitative score of 141
      • If you have scores from the old GRE exam that are less than five years old, a minimum of 450 in both the Verbal and Quantitative sections are required.

Request transcripts of all previous college work, showing completion of the required undergraduate course work

Three letters of recommendation (two from professors)

Submission of a carefully written goals statement (1,000 words) outlining:

    • Background and experience (academic and/or professional)
    • Future goals you have in mind for one of the following concentrations (i.e. International Sport Management, Recreation Administration, Sport Coaching, Sport and Leisure Studies, or Sport Management)
    • If you do not hold a sport or recreation undergraduate degree, you must indicate how your academic and/or professional background prepares you for admission to the Sport and Recreation Studies graduate program.
