Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.5 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
The graduate programs are geared toward highly qualified professionals and committed individuals. To be admitted, you must hold a bachelor\xc2\x92s degree from an accredited college or university and submit:
- Application for admission with a $50 nonrefundable application fee
- Statement of professional goals indicating how a Master of Science in Taxation (MST) from Suffolk University will help you achieve your goals
- Current resume
- Two letters of recommendation from past or present academic or professional colleagues
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools attended
- An official GMAT or GRE score.

You may be eligible to waive the GMAT/GRE requirement if:
- You\xc2\x92ve passed the CPA exam
- You qualify for the 4+1 Program by having at least a 3.5 (on a scale of 4.0) cumulative GPA in the second semester of your senior year as an undergraduate business student at a U.S. institution. (Recent graduates also considered.)
- You qualify for the Suffolk Gold Waiver by having at least a 3.4 (on a scale of 4.0) cumulative undergraduate GPA and at least four years of full-time, professional work experience.
- You\xc2\x92re in the GDPA Program and have completed at least 5 courses, but no more than 7, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. (MSA, MST, MBA, MBA/MSA, MBA/GDPA & MSA/MST only.) Note: MBA Program requires the equivalent of 1 year of work experience.
- You graduated from an ABA-approved law schools (must submit documentation of LSAT)
- You are an Enrolled Agent
- Others will be considered on a case-by-case basis
