Program Curriculum

  • Applicant must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program in Elementary Education.
  • Applicant must have Academic Excellence, as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.5 or better.
  • Applicant must demonstrate service commitment through involvement in student organizations, community groups, programs, or agencies.
  • Applicant must have experience and involvement with children and youth demonstrated by summer work, part-time jobs, work in child care centers, camp counselor positions, church programs, etc.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.75

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Unconditional Admission

In addition to Graduate School criteria, academic proficiency must be established through satisfaction of either of the following admissions selection criteria:

  • A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 overall or a 3.0 on the last 60 hours with at least 388 raw score on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or a minimum score GRE score of 142 on the verbal, 142 on the quantitative, and 3.5 on the Analytical Writing sections of the GRE.
  • Complete the online Graduate School Application
  • Hold a bachelor\'s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, along with the official MAT or GRE test score.
Conditional Admission

In addition to Graduate School criteria for conditional admission, academic proficiency must be established through satisfaction of either of the following admission selection criteria:

A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 and a score of at least 368 on the MAT or a minimum score of 740 on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE
Students who earn conditional admission must make a minimum of all \xc2\x93B\xc2\x94s in the first semester.
