Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Complete DESE application for Initial PC license
- Pass the MEGA (see Table above)
- Minimum GPA requirements: 3.00 cumulative, 3.00 content area, and 3.00 professional education coursework
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited university (transcript)
- A minimum grade of C in all content courses with an overall content GPA of 3.0
- Transcripts which document completion of all Missouri content certification requirements (including DESE general education requirements)
- Two letters of recommendation that address the candidate\xc2\x92s potential to be an educator
- Missouri State Police and FBI background check
- Candidate narrative statement describing the intentions and purposes for becoming a middle or high school teacher in a high-need school district
- Completion with passing scores of the Missouri Educator Gateway Assessments
English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
