Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
- A Bachelor of Engineering or Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, awarded by an internationally recognized university-level institution.
- Fundamental knowledge in the fields of engineering, mathematics and natural science that should be covered within the following modules: Mathematics, Mechanics, Material Sciences, Thermodynamics, Chemistry, Physics, Machine Tools, Technical Drawing.
- Furthermore knowledge in the following courses is requested: Finishing, Textile techniques, Fibres, Automatic Control, Quality Management, Computer Sciences, Simulation Techniques, Economics, Molecular Chemistry.
- Practical work experience.
- Very good results in the undergraduate studies.
- Very good command of English language.
- German language skills (A1 by 1 July, A2 by enrolment, B1 by end of 1st Semester)

Preparatory Master\'s College for Textile Students
The RWTH International Academy offers you a preparatory Textile Engineering Master\'s College with German language courses as well as technical courses prior to the start of the semester.
That way, you will have the chance to acquire the requested German knowledge until the A2 level prior to the beginning of your master studies at RWTH Aachen University.
The courses will start in Mid-August and run until the beginning of the official semester in Mid-October.
Right after admission, students without any prior German knowledge will have to prepare themselves in order to reach a level of A1 before they come to Aachen in August.
The German courses in Aachen will start with the level A 2.1 in August and will take place every day, Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day. You will finish the classes with the required A2 level in October.
Next to the German courses, you will have the chance to cover missing technical knowledge in thermodynamics, mechanics and machine design to fulfil the admission requirements.
In addition, during your free time, you will be included in a social programme with excursions and events to get to know the city and university.
