Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Home students require an honours degree (minimum Upper Second) from a British university in an appropriate biological or medical subject, including biomedical materials, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacology.

For MBChB students, the minimum student criterion for admission is satisfactory achievement in Years 1 to 4. Students can fail, but must pass the resit, i.e. progress through the MBChB course. There should be no failure in the year before intercalation.

Specifically, we require a minimum of:

  • IELTS - minimum 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing
  • TOEFL: 90 internet-based (with 22 in each component)

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
