Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Applicants must hold a university degree (at least B. Sc. or another eqivalent degree) in forestry, agriculture, horticulture, or any other related field. Moreover, applicants need proficiency in the English language (TOEFL or IELTS certificate).

Scholarships for students from developing countries are granted by DAAD. As their number is limited, opening up other sources of grants will considerably raise chances to be admitted.
When applying for a DAAD scholarship, the complete application should reach the institute not later than 30th October one year prior to the beginning of the course. If sent to DAAD, deadline is 30th September. Otherwise applications should be received at the institute before 30th August of the year the study course is to commence.

The complete application must contain:

  • standard application form

- DAAD application form or

- Application form for private foreign students or

- Application form for private German students

  • statement of purpose of the application (motivation)
  • curriculum vitae
  • research proposal
  • school-leaving certificate and university degree certificate
  • two letters of reference from senior academics (original letters or officially authenticated copies)
  • two recent photographs
  • academic transcript
  • English language certificate (TOEFL, IELTS)

English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
