The Beijing Film Academy, Asia's most prestigious film school, offers international student scholarships through the Chinese Scholarship Council and BFA institutional funds. International students can apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship to fund studies in BFA's directing, cinematography, animation, acting, and production programmes. BFA alumni include Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, and Tian Zhuangzhuang, the founding generation of the globally celebrated Chinese Fifth Generation cinema. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and a living stipend. Chinese language courses are available for non-Mandarin speakers.
