The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria hosts the Young Scientists Summer Programme, one of the most prestigious international research fellowships for PhD students. YSSP fellows spend three months at IIASA headquarters in Laxenburg, Austria, working on their dissertation research with IIASA scientists as mentors. Research must address global systems challenges across IIASA's programmes including energy, water, land use, population, and environmental change. Approximately 50 students from any country are accepted annually. Fellows receive a stipend, accommodation, and full programme access.
