About This Scholarship
The NSF East Asia and Pacific Summer Institute (now called IRES - International Research Experiences for Students) provides US graduate students with first-hand research experience in Australian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, New Zealand, Singapore, or Taiwanese institutions for 8-10 weeks during the summer. Fellows receive a stipend of $5,000 plus travel costs. Participation creates international research networks essential for global scientific collaboration.
