About This Scholarship

The Sundance Institute Documentary Film Programme supports non-fiction filmmakers at critical stages of development through grants, creative labs, and fellowships. The Documentary Fund provides grants to documentary projects addressing stories of social and cultural relevance, with individual film grants ranging from $20,000 to $50,000. The Sundance Documentary Lab offers intensive creative residencies for selected directors at the Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah. International filmmakers are eligible and a substantial portion of funded projects come from outside the United States. The programme has supported documentaries that have gone on to win Academy Awards and major festival prizes.
