About This Scholarship

La Cinef is a competitive section of the Cannes Film Festival devoted to short and medium-length films by students from film schools worldwide. Selected student films are screened in official competition at Cannes, with jury awards of €15,000, €11,000, and €7,000 for first, second, and third prizes. Participation in La Cinef brings exceptional international visibility for student filmmakers and their schools. The selection process is rigorous, with hundreds of films from dozens of schools competing for only around 15 spots in the official selection each year. Being selected for La Cinef is considered one of the most prestigious achievements in student filmmaking globally.
