About This Scholarship

The Tribeca Film Institute, founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff, provides development and completion grants for independent documentary and narrative films that amplify underrepresented voices globally. TFI grants range from $20,000 to $50,000 and focus on stories by and about marginalised communities, with particular attention to filmmakers from the Global South, Africa, and Asia. The TFI Network provides year-round support for emerging filmmakers through workshops, industry connections, and distribution guidance. The Tribeca Film Festival provides a natural exhibition platform for supported projects.
