The American Association of University Women awards International Fellowships to women from countries other than the United States who are pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the USA. Awards range from $18,000 to $30,000 for master's and doctoral study, and $45,000 for postdoctoral study. Priority is given to women who have shown prior commitment to the advancement of women and girls in their home countries. Over 5,000 women from more than 130 countries have received AAUW International Fellowships since 1917, making it one of the oldest and most respected women's education programmes.
