The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at various African universities provides full scholarships for academically talented but economically disadvantaged students from sub-Saharan Africa. Partner universities include the University of Cape Town, Ashesi University, EARTH University, USIU-Africa, and others. Each scholarship covers full tuition, accommodation, meals, books, travel, and a living allowance. Scholars participate in leadership development activities and are expected to commit to giving back to their communities post-graduation. The programme has supported over 50,000 scholars at universities across Africa and beyond.
