Earthwatch Institute funds scientific research by placing teams of citizen scientists alongside professional researchers in the field. The Earthwatch Fellowship Programme sends educators, corporate professionals, and students on field research expeditions in exchange for their labour on scientific projects. Research topics include climate change impacts on coral reefs, deforestation patterns in the Amazon, wildlife conservation in Africa, and water quality in Asia. Education fellowships are available for teachers, enabling them to bring field science experience back to their classrooms.
