About This Scholarship
The American Council of Learned Societies awards competitive fellowships for humanists to pursue independent research projects. ACLS supports scholarship across history, literature, philosophy, cultural studies, and interdisciplinary humanities. Fellowships provide stipends for 3-12 months of research. ACLS has awarded over 14,000 fellowships since 1933 and supports some of the most transformative humanities scholarship in the world.
