Cape Breton University(CBU) is apublic universitylocated inSydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is the only post-secondary degree-granting institution within theCape Breton Regional Municipalityand onCape Breton Island. The university is enabled by theCape Breton University Actpassed by theNova Scotia House of Assembly.Prior to this, CBU was enabled by theUniversity College of Cape Breton Act(amended).The University College of Cape Breton's Coat of Arms were registered with theCanadian Heraldic Authorityon May 27, 1995.
