The Internet of Things (IoT) has captured significant interest across various sectors, including smart agriculture, transportation, environmental monitoring, healthcare, and industrial applications. Central to IoT functionality are sensors that need to be both highly sensitive and selective to effectively interact with their environment. Furthermore, the data these sensors collect is essential for enhancing the intelligence of processes and systems. IoT encompasses a broad range of disciplines, from material science to data analytics, all vital for developing IoT systems. To address these complex needs, an Inter-Disciplinary Research Platform (IDRP) has been established for the Center for AIOT and Applications. This platform aims to integrate technologies comprehensively, fostering research and development across sectors like Industry 4.0, health, and infrastructure, which includes safety and environmental monitoring. The collaborative R&D ecosystem in Jodhpur, which brings together institutions like IITJ, AIIMS, NLU, and Police University, is poised to drive innovation in AIOT in areas such as healthcare, environment, and cybersecurity.
