University of Asmara

Eritreans were allowed to learn up to grade 4 under Italian rule. After Eritrea was federated with Ethiopia secondary schools were opened in many regions. Eritreans were being educated at the Haile Sillassie University as there was no university in Eritrea for Eritreans. This ended when the Military government opened the Asmara University. The Comboni Sisters was meant for Italians.
