Xiamen University (XMU) is a prestigious, top-tier public research university located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. Founded in 1921 by the prominent patriotic overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee, it holds the distinction of being the first university in modern Chinese history established by an overseas Chinese creator.
