Program Curriculum

Course Structure

  1. Structured into modules based on à la carte training in five areas:- human biology (cancer, infl ammation, vascular pathology, etc.);- genetics and genomics (molecular diagnosis, genetic dynamics: issues of survival, etc.);- cellular and molecular animal biology (stem cells, normal and pathological ageing, etc.);- cellular and molecular plant biology (biotechnologies, structure and functions of proteins, etc.);- cellular and molecular microbiology (host-pathogen relationship, molecular evolution and adaptation, etc.);
  2. Also includes participation in two \x93theme weeks\x94 (classes, seminars and practical training at Namur or other universities in the French Community);
  3. Culminates in a long master thesis (12 months) carried out at a state-of-the-art research laboratory;
  4. Enriched with a four-month internship in a company, a government agency or a research laboratory in Belgium or abroad;
  5. Features specialisation through choice of orientation:- Research masters: complete an internship at a research centre, preferentially abroad;- Teaching masters for biology at upper secondary level;- Specialised masters in which you work in a company.

ENROLLING IN THE UNIVERSITY

To enrol in the university, if you hold a degree from a foreign university, you will need to complete the application form on the website (www.unamur.be/apps-admission) between 1 February and 30 April (or 31 August in the case of students from the European Union). If your application is eligible, the University will send you a registration form, accompanied by a study financing plan where applicable.

After your submission has been examined by the academic authorities, you will be sent an acknowledgement of receipt together with a list of documents you need to provide.

The University\xc2\x92s Registration Service is open every day from 9.00 to 13.00 and on Wednesdays from 14.00 to 16.30.

After you have arrived, the Service will help you with the various administrative procedures.
