Program Overview

The programme of study is intended to follow closely the curriculum of the Instituto Cervantes, the foremost institution worldwide in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. Setting aside Chinese, there are more native speaks of Spanish in the world than there are of any other language. Year 1 Semester 1 Compulsory Units (All students must register for this/these unit/s) SLA1030 Spanish Language Ab Initio 1 5 ECTS Semester 2 Compulsory Units (All students must register for this/these unit/s) SLA1031 Spanish Language Ab Initio 2 5 ECTS Year 2 Semester 1 Compulsory Units (All students must register for this/these unit/s) SLA1040 Spanish Language, Elementary 1 5 ECTS Semester 2 Compulsory Units (All students must register for this/these unit/s) SLA1041 Spanish Language, Elementary 2 5 ECTS Year 3 Semester 1 Compulsory Units (All students must register for this/these unit/s) SLA1050 Spanish Language Lower Intermediate 1 5 ECTS Semester 2 Compulsory Units (All students must register for this/these unit/s) SLA1051 Spanish Language Lower Intermediate 2 5 ECTS Requirement for award of Certificate in Language Proficiency (Spanish): 30 ECTS credits This programme of study is governed by the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 and by the Bye-Laws for the award of the Certificate in Language Proficiency and the Diploma in Language Proficiency under the auspices of the Faculty of Arts.
