Academic Requirements

Admission Requirements:
  • The Master of Science in chemistry requires a minimum of 30 s.h. of graduate credit. The degree is offered with or without thesis. M.S. students must demonstrate minimal proficiency in biochemistry, and analytical, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry by passing specific examinations or by enrolling in suitable core courses. This requirement must be completed by the end of the second year of enrollment. A g.p.a. of at least 3.00 is required for admission to the master\'s examination.
  • You must first submit the online application to the Graduate College and pay the $60 application fee by credit card ($100 for international applicants).
  • A brief statement of purpose
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A set of your unofficial academic records/transcripts uploaded on your Admissions Profile. If you are admitted, official transcripts will be required before your enrollment.
  • Your official GRE scores from Educational Testing Service (the University\'s institutional code is 6681).
  • International students may also be required to submit TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores to comply with the university\'s English Language Proficiency Requirements.
  • Once recommended for admission, international students must send a Financial Statement.
