  6. Students will develop and carry out an Inquiry Project that centers on a problem/issue/question in elementary teaching and/or learning. In addition to a final written project \x96 near the end of the semester, students will make a formal presentation of their projects. Projects may address areas of teaching that could be improved, classroom instructional challenges, areas for further in-depth investigation or an area of student performance.

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • 500-800 word personal/goals statement that showcases your background, teaching experience and goals for seeking an advanced degree
  • Copy of your current teaching certificate: must be uploaded with personal statement
  • Transcripts of all post-secondary education* showing 3.0 GPA as required by the Graduate School
  • Three letters of recommendation that assess your work ethic and potential as a graduate student. These letters must be included with the online reference form.
  • Non-refundable application fee of $75 for U.S. citizens and permanent residents or $85 for international residents
