Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA.
- Applicants whose native language is not English or who have not earned a degree in the United States must also submit TOEFL scores earned within two (2) years of the desired term of entry. A minimum total score of 79 on the internet-based test or 550 on the paper-based test are required. Applications submitted with TOEFL scores that do not meet the minimum requirements will be denied.
- The applicant\'s native language is English, or
- The applicant scored 500 or higher on the GRE Verbal Test, or
- The applicant has earned a college degree at a US. institution of higher learning, or
- The applicant has earned a college degree from an institution whose language of instruction is English (must be noted on the transcript), or
- The applicant has scored 6.5 on International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- The GRE will not be required.

- Select program in the concentration of your choosing.
- Pay the application fee.
- Assemble the following document:
- A 250-500 word essay that includes your academic and professional background, your reasons for pursuing this degree, and your professional goals in terms of contributing to global sustainability.
- Any documents that may supplement your submission, such as a resume or CV, a portfolio demonstrating prior work that focuses on sustainability issues.
- At least two letters of recommendation; at least one should be from a professor (from your most recent institution).
- An indication of which concentration you interested in pursuing.
- Official transcripts from degrees earned at any institution other than the University of South Florida.
