Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Hold a bachelor\xc2\x92s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university;
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4-point scale) in all of their upper division course work or have earned a graduate degree with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA;
- Provide three letters of recommendation from professional supervisors and/or former faculty that attest to the applicant\xc2\x92s educational background, motivation, and analytical skills;
- Video statement of purpose (up to three minutes) outlining your professional goals in pursuing the MS in Marketing degree and why you would be an ideal candidate for admission into the program;
- Applicant must be physically present in the video
- 3 minute maximum
- Applicant must upload video to his/her YouTube channel (can be made private)
- Have at least 3 years of professional work experience or score at least 500 on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the equivalent on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE);
- Applicants whose studies were completed outside of the US must demonstrate proficiency in the English language by presenting a minimum score of 80 on the iBT TOEFL (equivalent to 550 on the paper-based version) or 6.5 overall on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS);
- Be in good standing at all previously-attended colleges and universities.
- Academic Records: Your academic records must be sent directly to us by your previous educational institution(s). Required academic records include:
- Transcripts: Yearly or semester records that indicate the number of lecture and/or laboratory hours and the grade or mark received in each course.
- Diplomas: for all degrees you have received, with the title of degree and date conferred.
- If the language of instruction at your institution was not English, then you must provide the original-language copies of all transcripts and diplomas as described above AND:
- A separate English-language translation of all academic records. The translation should either come from a professional, certified translator. It must contain all information shown on the original-language documents and \xc2\x93mirror\xc2\x94 them as precisely as possible.
- Please note that FIU accepts transcript and diploma translations, and all evaluations of official academic records are to be performed by FIU staff only.
