Program Overview

Overall learning outcomes include: • an understanding of the mathematical basis as well as a comparison of techniques currently in use. • familiarity with software and use of equipment that is currently available for research, enabling you to develop and publish using the same standards and same environment as other students abroad. • current standards in use and those nearing finalisation to enable the students to be in a position of making adequate decisions when they are in the industry. • an appreciation of research methods necessary to publish in these areas, enabling students to follow research as a professional job.

Career Opportunities

As a M.Sc. graduate, you will possess the relevant ICT knowledge as well as the postgraduate maturity to successfully apply the newly acquired expertise in analogue, digital, and high-frequency microelectronics to new situations. You are expected to be a leader in the microelectronics and manufacturing industry. Moreover, together with an undergraduate programme in an engineering or computer science related field and two years working experience under a professional engineer, this programme makes you eligible to the Maltese Engineering Warrant. This degree enables also further studies leading to a doctorate, as well as the opportunities that exist to join large research teams in the industry, abroad.
