Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
Prerequisites to admission are a baccalaureate in Mexican American, Chicana/o, or Latina/o Studies or a related field, with at least 15 upper division units in Chicano Studies and a grade point average of 2.75 or above in the last 60 semester units of work attempted at an accredited institution. Students who lack prerequisite courses must complete them with a B (3.0) average or better.\xc2\xa0 In addition to submitting a University Admissions Application through CSU Mentor, applicants must also apply separately to the Department.\xc2\xa0 Application forms are available on the Department\xc2\x92s website. Completed applications, statement of purpose, three recommendation letters (at least one academic reference and additional letters may include employment supervisors) and transcripts (from accredited degree granting institution) must be received by the Department by the deadline stipulated on the Graduate Studies Office website. Official transcripts must also be sent to the Graduate Studies Office ADM 702 before the set deadline.
