Program Curriculum

Course Structure

  1. A comparison and assessment of modern positioning technologies (GPS, laser scanning, photos, etc.)
  2. Solution of specific positioning issues (positioning of cars, planes, persons, echo sounders, etc.)
  3. Methods development in connection with the use of positioning technology.
  4. Comparison and assessment of mapping technologies/methods (for example photogrammetry and laser scanning)
  5. Mapping/modelling of topography based on a 3D point cloud from a laser scanner mounted in a plane
  6. Positioning/orientation of a digital camera by means of GPS and inclination sensors.
  7. to carry through an internship in a relevant private or public enterprise and with that learn how the disciplines are executed in practice
  8. to go for a relevant study stay at another Danish or foreign university
  9. to write a project within the theme of the first or second semester
  10. to make a so-called \x93long master\x92s thesis\x94, i.e. you choose to write the master\x92s thesis over two semesters instead of one.

Academic Requirements

The MSc in Technology programme in Surveying, Planning and Land Management with a specialisation in:

  • Geoinformatics
  • Land Management
  • Surveying and Mapping

is directed at students with a bachelor\xc2\x92s degree in Surveying, Planning and Land Management or study programmes with similar content.

Furthermore please note the official language requirements for international students applying to Aalborg University are:
