Program Overview
The Women´s and Gender Studies at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee is a MA programme in Humanities, delivered On-campus. This programme equips graduates with advanced knowledge and practical skills for professional and academic careers in the field.

Course Structure
- WGS 401: Global Feminisms (U/G);
- WGS 700: Feminist Issues and Scholarship;
- WGS 710: Advanced Feminist Theory;
- WGS 711: Advanced Feminist Research Methods; and
- One additional 3-credit G or U/G WGS course, excluding: 497, 599, 990, and 999.

Admissions
Applicants must satisfy Graduate School requirements for admission. In addition, applicants must provide the Womens & Gender Studies program with the following materials to be considered for admission:
- Three letters of recommendation from persons familiar with the applicants academic or professional work.
- A sample of the applicants written work that demonstrates the applicants critical thinking, research, and writing skills. and
- A letter of intent explaining the applicants reasons for graduate study (the Graduate School Reasons Statement may be used).
Note:
- Transcripts should be sent directly to the Graduate School as part of the regular online application process.
- GRE scores are recommended, but not required. They are, however, necessary for graduate fellowship support.
Priority Deadline
Applications received by January 15 will be given full consideration. The Womens & Gender Studies MA Program accepts fall admissions only.
