About This Scholarship

The International Foundation for Science supports early-career researchers in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries, and water resources in developing countries. IFS grants of $12,000-$18,000 are awarded to scientists at the early stages of their research careers who are affiliated with institutions in low and middle-income countries. The programme has supported over 5,500 young scientists from 100+ developing countries since 1972. IFS particularly supports researchers whose work bridges the gap between environmental science and food security.
