About This Scholarship

The UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR) offers research training grants for scientists from disease-endemic countries to strengthen their capabilities in infectious disease research. Grants support short-term placements at research institutions in both developed and developing countries. The programme focuses on diseases disproportionately affecting low-income populations including malaria, tuberculosis, HIV, neglected tropical diseases, and emerging infections. TDR also funds postgraduate research training for mid-career scientists seeking advanced degree training.
