About This Scholarship

The Fogarty International Center at the US National Institutes of Health offers training fellowships for US graduate students and medical residents to conduct clinical research in low and middle-income countries. The fellowship covers a 12-month international research placement with a US stipend and funds for international research expenses. Fellows work alongside local researchers on global health priorities including infectious diseases, maternal and child health, and non-communicable diseases. The programme builds a cadre of US researchers with international experience while contributing to research capacity in host countries. Over 1,000 fellows have participated since the programme's inception.
