About This Scholarship

The Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada awards scholarships and bursaries to Indigenous medical students to increase the representation of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit physicians in the Canadian healthcare system. The IPAC scholarship is administered through medical schools and targets students at all stages of medical training, from pre-medicine to residency. The programme recognises that Indigenous communities face critical shortages of culturally competent healthcare providers and that Indigenous physicians are essential to closing health equity gaps.
