Academic Requirements
Master study programme European Studies is open to:
- Anyone, who graduated from 1st cycle study programme European studies - social science aspects or International relations and collected 240 ECTS can enrol in 2nd cycle study programme without additional requirements.
- Anyone, who graduated from 1st cycle study programme in the field of: economics or law and has gathered 240 ECTS, completed a subject in a Programe for Upgrading Social Sciences Related Knowledge worth 10 credits, as follows: First foreign specialised language IV, Second foreign specialised language IV (English, German, French, Spanish, Russian or Italian or any other foreign language). Candidate can claim certificates, acquired in previous formal and informal education for the specified subjects.
- Anyone, who graduated from 1st cycle study program in the following fields: humanities - theology, philosophy, history, cultural studies, translation; social sciences, journalism; business and administration, and collected 240 ECTS and completed the subject Foundations of the European Union. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate adequate knowledge of the first foreign specialised language and the second foreign specialised language at the 1st cycle of university studies: First foreign specialised language IV and Second foreign specialised language IV (English, German, French, Spanish, Russian or Italian or any other foreign language). Candidate can claim certificates, acquired in previous formal or informal education for the specified subjects.
- Anyone, who graduated from 1st cycle study programme from any other professional field and collected 240 ECTS, if all study obligations that are essential for the continuation of the study, are completed before enrolment, namely exams in the following subjects: First foreign specialised language IV and Second foreign specialised language IV (English, German, French, Spanish, Russian or Italian or any other foreign language), Foundations of EU, EU policies, EU law, EU in global economy and External relations of EU. Candidate can claim certificates, acquired in previous formal or informal education for the specified subjects.
- Anyone, who graduated from 1st cycle study programme from any field of study and collected 180 ECTS, while in the Programe for Upgrading Social Sciences Related Knowledge the candidate must collect the missing 60 ECTS. Compulsory subjects which must be completed before the enrolment are: First foreign specialised language IV, Second foreign specialised language IV (English, German, French, Spanish, Russian or Italian or any other foreign language), Foundations of EU, EU policies, EU law, EU in global economy and External relations of EU, other subjects (comprising of 25 ECTS) are selected in cooperation with the administrator of the program. If the candidate has already taken the specified subjects in time of his study, then the candidate is assigned to another subjects of 1st cycle study programme European studies - social science aspects.
- Anyone, who graduated from four-year higher education program, which it was possible to enter before the introduction of the Bologna reform and completed no later than 2015/2016, from any professional field, if completed all study obligations that are essential for the continuation of the study before enrolment, namely the following subjects: First foreign specialised language IV and Second foreign specialised language IV (English, German, French, Spanish, Russian or Italian or any other foreign language), Foundations of EU, EU policies, EU law, EU in global economy and External relations of EU. Candidate can claim certificates, acquired in previous formal or informal education for the specified subjects.
- Anyone, who completed a three-year professional program or specialization at short cycle higher education programme, which it was possible to enter before the introduction of the Bologna reform and completed no later than 2015/2016, while in the Programe for Upgrading Social Sciences Related Knowledge, the candidate must collect the missing 60 ECTS. Compulsory subjects which must be completed before the enrolment are: First foreign specialised language IV, Second foreign specialised language IV (English, German, French, Spanish, Russian or Italian or any other foreign language), Foundations of EU, EU policies, EU law, EU in global economy and External relations of EU, other subjects (comprising of 25 ECTS) are selected in cooperation with the administrator of the program. If the candidate has already taken the specified subjects in time of his study, then the candidate is assigned to another subjects of 1st cycle study programme European studies - social science aspects.
The requirements for the implementation of the program is a number of at least 17 students enrolled in full-time study and at least 8 students enrolled in part-time study.
Selection criteria in the case of restricted enrolment
Individual elements of the selection will be evaluated in the following manner:
- Success (grade point average) - worth 50%.
- Grade achieved in oral or written exam in the fields of History of EU, European institutions and European economic integrations in front of an expert committee set by the Department of International Relations - worth 50%.
