Career opportunities This Bachelor’s degree offers privileged access to professions related to public accounting and tax consulting in a dynamic and rapidly changing market. The Bachelor’s degree also enables the best students to continue their studies in a Master’s degree in Luxembourg (Accounting and Audit, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Wealth Management, etc.) and abroad. Objectives Bachelor degree (180 ECTS credits) Develop fundamental knowledge and skills in all areas of accounting and taxation in order to facilitate professional integration and career development. Develop new skills with regards to the rise of digital technology (dematerialisation of invoices, automation of recording processes, AI) in order to ensure long-term employability Learning outcomes The profession of accountant has been identified as one of the six “golden jobs” to be targeted in the coming years. At the end of the programme students will be able to: – Keep a company’s accounts in compliance with legal and ethical provisions– Draw up summary accounting documents and present them in a multilingual context– Prepare Luxembourg tax and social security returns– Advise clients on current legal issues– Apply the principles of accounting audit to simple concrete cases– Use and apply computer techniques for the benefit of the company’s business– Update and improve their knowledge and know-how necessary for the proper practice of their profession. Program Curriculum
Programme In order to obtain the Certificate of the Formation complémentaire des candidats experts-comptables, the candidate must achieve a minimum grade of 10 out of 20 for each of the courses (UVs).One teaching unit (UE) is equivalent to 45 minutes. List of teaching units per UV Admissions Course schedule Subject to the availability of the teachers, courses will be given on the following days: Mondays from 16.00 to 20.00. Wednesdays: anytime from 8.00 to 20.00, the duration of one Value Unit (course) being 2 to 3 hours Saturdays: from 8.00 to 12.00. The courses of this program are taught in-person at the Limpertsberg campus. Responsibility of the duly enrolled candidate: It is reminded that it is the obligation of each enrolled candidate to regularly check the MOODLE system of the University of Luxembourg in order to consult the schedules of courses and exams, any modification thereto, and other relevant information (in particular the sections entitled “General Information” and “News Forum”). Each semester, the procedures for accessing the MOODLE system are communicated to duly enrolled candidates via e-mail 8 days before the start of the classes of the relevant semester (without prejudice). Exam organisation Exam dates are published on Moodle at least three weeks prior to the first session exams. The information will mention the date, time and place of each written exam. A candidate can only attend the retake session of an exam if they have failed the first session exam of the same academic year or if they have been absent from the first session exam due to a validly notified medical reason as described in the Examination Regulation (only absences for illness supported by a medical certificate sent by registered post within 3 working days of the occurrence of the illness will be recognized). Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the examination, candidates must have commenced professional practice (as defined in Article 21 of the Law of 2 September 2011) with a duly registered chartered accountant and have this confirmed by their supervisor.
